General Information on Your Water:

Where is the water from?
We draw our water from Lake Whatcom. The water is treated, filtered and
then pumped to our customers. Certain areas may receive their water from the
city of Bellingham.
What is in the water?
We treat our water primarily with Chlorine. For a detailed explanation on
why we use chlorine please click here. The contents of our water is
reported every year in a Consumer Confidence Report.
Who governs the District?
We are governed by a five member board of commissioners. They set policy for
everything including rates, service area, and water treatment.
Who treats the District's Sewage?
The District sends its sewage to the city of Bellingham's Post Point
Sewage Treatment Plant
